Call to Artists: 1st Annual Bulky Waste Sculpture Garden

Bulky waste pick-up starts in Willimantic the week of May 23rd, so the time is now to be on lookout for the many mounds of magical trash!!

Here's how it works:
Create a sculpture using found objects from the sidewalk trash piles in Willimantic and the surrounding areas.

Bring your creation to the Bulky Waste Sculpture Garden on June 16th, between 5:30 and 6:00 pm (just before the Third Thursday Street Festival starts) to qualify for a prize. YES!! There will be prizes!

Sign in on June 16th will be at at Willimantic Records, which is located behind Rajean's Gifts at 744 Main Street (the store entrance to Willimantic Records is physically on Riverside Drive,... just look for signs and sculptures on the sidewalk). The Bulky Waste Sculpture Garden will run along the alleyway from Rajean's Gifts down to the Riverside Drive parking lot. Judging is scheduled to take place shortly after 6 PM.

All sculptues MUST be removed by owner by 8:30 PM.

Pre-registration is NOT mandatory, but will help us reserve a space for YOU. We'd love to start getting a count of potential submissions. To pre-register please either message us on Facebook or email us at info@vulturetownart.org.

There is no registration fee. If you can haul it in and make it stand up - we will accept it!
